Defining the service to be provided
In order to ensure that Clients get Energy Performance Certificates which meet their needs, it is essential that the Assessor knows the purpose
for which the service is required. Assessors/inspectors are obliged also to disclose any conflict of interest of which they are aware and to
agree or confirm their instructions in writing.
An assessment. Is it a survey?
It is important to appreciate that an Energy Assessment/Inspection is not a building survey and neither is it an inspection for a valuation.
Although the person who visits your property may well be a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor and Valuer, they will only be dealing with
the Energy Inspection. They will not be looking at the structure, other than to provide enough information to provide details to the
Government body in order that they can provide an Energy Performance Certificate.
NRG Reports however, have links to Chartered Surveyors, Structural Engineers and Mortgage Advisors, which we may be able to give you,
to help you with your move, if you so wish.
Special instructions or departures
NRG Reports Ltd will agree, if appropriate, any special instructions or departures from these terms and conditions, if agreed between the
parties. Details will be confirmed in writing.
What will it cost?
There are no national scale fees and the fee in each case will depend upon the nature and extent of the work. NRG Reports Ltd will provide
quotations for specified Assessments/Inspections. In addition VAT is not normally payable, but sometimes reasonable out-of-pocket expenses. Are requested, foe example if a substantial distance away. We will discuss this with you before accepting the job.
Access: Please advise the assessor as to the means of access.
Additional Information
It is necessary for the Assessor to ask you for additional information (such as the date that an extension was built). This is required to complete the Energy Performance Certificate.
